Terms and Conditions for Breakaway Prep College Counseling Services

By enrolling in Breakaway Prep College Counseling Services, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Scope of Services Breakaway Prep provides advisory services to help students and families navigate the college admissions process. Services may include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing academic records, extracurricular activities, and family goals.
  • Developing a timeline for standardized testing and course selection.
  • Assisting with personalized college lists and summer plans.
  • Providing guidance on resumes, essays, and application materials.
  • Strategizing application timelines, Early Action/Early Decision plans, and supplemental essays.
  • Offering ongoing support via email, phone, and text.

The services provided by Breakaway are advisory in nature, and all final college decisions rest with the student and family. As such, it is understood that Breakaway does not guarantee acceptance to any particular college, nor are any guarantees implied. Fees are not accepted from institutions for referral or placement of a client. The primary obligation of Breakaway is the welfare of the student. Since no influence is garnered with institutions and only the student may impact a college’s ultimate decision, designated fees are payable regardless of whether the student is admitted to a particular institution.

2. Client Responsibilities To ensure the effectiveness of the counseling process, clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete academic, psychological, and psychoeducational information.
  • Meet deadlines for preparation and submission of application materials.
  • Register for standardized tests and send official results to colleges.
  • Maintain communication with Breakaway Prep and the student’s high school guidance counselor.
  • Secure recommendation letters and pay associated application fees.

3. Payment Terms

  • The Comprehensive College Counseling Package fee is $7,500.
  • Payment options include:
    • Single payment ($7,500).
    • Four-payment plan ($1,875 x 4).
    • Twelve-payment plan ($625 x 12).
  • Invoices are issued on the first of the month, with automatic credit card payments processed around the 10th.
  • Fees are non-refundable and secure the student’s roster spot in their graduating class, regardless of early college commitments.
  • If a student transfers out of state, services may continue remotely via phone or video conferencing.

4. Limitations and Disclaimers

  • Breakaway Prep acts as an advisor; all final decisions and actions rest with the student and family.
  • Breakaway Prep does not accept fees from institutions for referrals or placements.
  • Breakaway Prep is not responsible for missed deadlines, incomplete applications, or other issues arising from client inaction.
